Although the climate in the state is dry and desert, Utah is primarily known for its skiing, because of the mountains near Salt Lake City. We did all our journeys in mid-spring or beginning of summer when snow leftovers can be visible only on the tops of the highest mountains.
It’s the largest island in Salt Lake that is home to a huge herd of free-ranging bison! It has a scenic road that pierces the whole island from the northern point to the southern, and many hiking trails that provide the best view of the Great Salt Lake. Ogden town was known as a major passenger railroad junction as it was the closest city to the Golden Spike location, where the First Transcontinental Railroad was joined in 1869. Today it’s not a railroad mecca anymore but it’s still a very unique and appealing town with not only a lot of places to eat or stay, or coffee shops but also baggage of history, like the baggage of passengers that came to Ogden Union Station at its best days when it was connecting the whole continent. Bonneville Salt Flats
Very famous salt flats because of land-speed record but it’s actually public spot where you can walk, hike, bike or even drive your own car. Don’t forget driving there will make you salty, very salty. That salt got there from the lake that no longer exist, imagine it was very bottom of lake and almost one thousand feet water were there.
